Natural Aligned Fibres and Textiles for Use in Structural Composite Applications(NATEX)
NATEX will develop aligned textiles from natural fibres suitable for use as high strength reinforcing fabrics to produce structural composite parts. It will do so by using bio and oil based thermoplastic and thermoset resins. Aligned natural fibres with improved properties will be combined with thermoplastics and thermosets, increasing the mechanical properties of biocomposites. Next, they will find structural applications in various sectors such as transport, agricultural machinery, shipbuilding and energy. Our role: Within NATEX, EuCIA acts as Working Package (WP) leader and Chair of IPR & Exploitation Board. Its role is technology transfer, disseminations of results, search of wider applications for the project developments and exploitation and IPR of the results together with the other partners in the project.

The objective of BioStruct is to create the next generation of enhanced Wood Plastic Composites (eWPC) through economically and environmentally friendly processing routes. The industrial applications and demonstrations are targetting four sectors: automotive, constructions, packaging and electronics. Our role: EuCIA role within the BioStruct consortium is to disseminate the milestone activities and overall results of BioStruct to the composite industry via several communications tools such as websites, newsletters, meetings, fairs, trainings, etc. throughout Europe. This action will help identify the innovative technological applications and facilitate their absorption by the envisaged sectors.
